2nd Period - 7:31•2002-2003 Regular Season

Right off a faceoff, Nolan and Ward are jousting at each other. After a few pokes, Owen drops em and so does Ward. It started off with both having a tight grip on each other's shirt, then Lance gets his right free and lands a solid shot to Owen's nose, which drops Nolan to one knee (the punch visibly stunned Nolan). Nolan recovers to his feet to where they struggle some more. Nolan tries to get a couple off, but Ward's strength was too much. Nolan then turns his head on Ward as it seems he's had enough. Lance takes advantage, as the linesmen weren't quick to jump in, and lands 2 more to the back of a helmetless Nolan. The refs then separate the two and Nolan clearly shows the damage to his nose with a cut and a red mark.
