Three Game Sevens on Tap

Three Game Sevens on Tap

The Philadelphia Flyers beat the New York Rangers handily to force a game seven Wednesday night. They’ll join two other series also moving into winner-takes-all territory.

Wayne Simmonds had a hat trick for the Flyers and Steve Mason was solid in net. The Rangers were able to put two past Mason in the third, humanizing his efforts over the first two periods.

The series has been chippy throughout, and the first pair of fighting majors came out of it Tuesday night. After a lot of banter Adam Hall and Brian Boyle dropped the gloves late in the game. Boyle was able to use his reach advantage to hold Hall at bay.
