Tanner Drops Nystrom, Avs-Blues Heats Up

Late in the second period of last night's Nashville Predators–Pittsburgh Penguins game Eric Nystrom took on Tanner Glass after Glass threw a big check on Nystrom.

They exchanged a few good punches until Nystrom's helmet was over his face. As Nystrom adjusted his helmet, Glass landed a big right towards the back of Nystrom's head. Nystrom dropped to the ice and was clearly dazed. He needed help up and did not return. Nystrom also had a cut over his left eye from earlier in the fight.

Root Sports Pittsburgh replayed Nystrom hitting Kris Letang in Feb 2012, but Nystrom was with the Dallas Stars at the time, Glass with the Winnipeg Jets. It's doubtful this was a revenge hit that led to the fight, merely Glass finishing his check.

Nystrom tweeted after the game that he was ok.
