Maxim Lapierre’s Hit on Dan Boyle Sparks Sharks-Blues
A few scraps took place around the NHL Tuesday night. The St. Louis Blues – San Jose Sharks game saw two of those at the same time after Blues forward Maxim Lapierre threw a nasty hit on Sharks blue liner Dan Boyle a little over five minutes into the game.
The hit was from behind, and rattled Boyle's head off the dasher, resulting in Boyle having to be stretchered off the ice. During the immediate aftermath of the hit the Sharks sought out retribution for the hit, and it touched off two simultaneous fights.
Matt Pelech was intercepted by Ryan Reaves while trying to get at Lapierre. Meanwhile, Andrew Desjardins broke through the pack and got a hold of Lapierre forcing him to defend himself for his actions.
