Maple Leafs Fighting With Any Lineup

Toronto Maple Leafs racking up fights without their enforcers

The Toronto Maple Leafs, who started the month by going three games without a fight, have made up for their momentary lapse into pacifism by fighting eight times in the last three games. They are once again leading the NHL in fighting majors with 44. But the interesting thing is not that the gloves are dropping, but rather whose hands they are coming off.

Frazer McLaren, who leads the Leafs with nine fighting majors, has one fight in the last 10 games. Colton Orr, who is second with six fights, last fought on Jan. 10.

Part of the reason for this is because neither has playing much these days. Orr missed eight of the last seven games because of an injury, while McLaren was out of the lineup for five of the last seven games.
