Leafs-Sabres Line Brawl Adds to Rivalry

John Scott was in a fighting mood after watching Jamie Devane outmatch a smaller Corey Tropp. Tropp, who also hit his head on the ice at the end of the fight, was assisted off the ice by his teammates and a trainer.

Scott had words for the Leafs bench immediately and then lined up across from Phil Kessel, and quickly dropped his gloves, going after the Leafs scorer. Kessel backed off and gave Scott a two-hander to the legs. Carter Ashton and T.J. Brennan jumped in to defend Kessel, as did David Clarkson, who came off of the bench. Kessel gave Scott another whack as all skaters on the ice dropped the gloves and mostly paired off, the Leafs now one man up.

Kessel also dropped his gloves and went with Brian Flynn. Leafs TV needed an aerial view to cover all of the action.

As players tired out, the ice covered in sticks and gloves, and the crowd chanting “Go Leafs Go”, Jonathan Bernier skated over to his goaltending counterpart Ryan Miller and the two had their own wild exchange. Bernier got the better of it once getting his right arm out of his jersey.
