Blue Jackets right wing Jared Boll needs only three penalty minutes to break the club record of 1,025 held by Jody Shelley, a mark that is one fight away from falling tonight against Phoenix.

Shelley, the retired enforcer and current broadcaster, said he couldn’t be happier for his friend.

Boll said it’s an honor to be in the same category as Shelley, who was “huge to my career, and still is.”
