Hit on Goalie Sparks Second Fight for Brandon Prust

Bolts’ teammates defend Bishop after hit by Montreal’s Prust

Angelidis was called up last week from Syracuse of the American Hockey League when both C Cedric Paquette and LW Ondrej Palat were lost to injury. His fights with Prust on Monday were his second and third fights in just 10 NHL regular-season games.

And he is no stranger to dropping the gloves.

Angelidis, 29, has been part of the Lightning system since 2010-11 and captained the 2012 Calder Cup team from Norfolk coached by Cooper. He has been in 107 regular-season and playoff fights in the AHL, according to HockeyFights.com, and has 1,056 penalty minutes in 497 regular-season games in the AHL.

“I’ve watched it for years, and when I came to pro, Ang came to Norfolk,’’ Cooper said. “He was our captain down there and there is a reason for that and you saw it (Monday night). That’s what his blood spells is ‘team’ and it’s great being able to have guys like that around.’’
