Ducks and Oilers Have Trio of Bouts in Tight Game
When there’s nothing left to play for, pride can be enough.
The Anaheim Ducks are on top of the Pacific Division, just one point ahead of the San Jose Sharks. The Edmonton Oilers are in last place in the West, looking at the East where the Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers keep them company at the top of the draft lottery.
After one period things looked as expected: the Ducks were on top 1-0 after an early goal. In the second, things took a twist. The game got nasty. There were three fights and the Oilers scored three goals.
Steve Pinizzotto was yapping, gladly taking on anyone who will fight him. It took over 20 seconds, but he finally got Matt Beleskey to drop the gloves with him just a minute and a half into the period.
