Dropping The Gloves Episode 275: Huge D-Man Contracts, Unsigned UFAs, and a Big Announcement
Welcome back to another episode of the Dropping The Gloves podcast with John and Tim! In episode 275, the guys dove into all the latest news around the National Hockey League starting in Edmonton.
Last week, the Oilers announced that they had signed Darnell Nurse to a new eight-year deal. There were mixed reviews from the hockey community, but one person who is fond of the deal is John Scott. He believes that the Oilers star defenceman has done enough to earn that kind of deal, and with the market today, it makes sense. What do you make of the contact? Did the Oilers make another mistake, or are they on the right track?
In other news, Adam Pelech also signed a new deal worth $46 million for eight years. Tim stated on the show that he believes Pelech could be the best defensive defenseman in the league. However, John doesn’t think it’s enough for them to overcome the Tampa Bay Lightning.
At the end of the show, the guys made a big announcement which you’ll all be excited about!
