Dropping The Gloves Episode 261: The Series Hasn’t Started Until…

Happy Belated Canada Day to all friends in the Great White North! We hope you all had a great day and enjoy the weekend.

Thank you very much for tuning into episode 261 of The Dropping The Gloves podcast with John Scott and his co-host Tim.

Of course, the big talking point for this episode was game two of The Stanley Cup Finals between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Montreal Canadiens. Montreal came back and fought hard in this contest and was arguably the better team. However, once again, the Lightning came out on top. The Blake Coleman goal played a big factor in giving Tampa the winner. John and Tim spoke about that goal and how much it impacted the game and sucked the momentum away from Montreal. It’s arguably one of the most important goals in Stanley Cup history.

Yesterday, there was a trade in the NHL between the Los Angeles Kings and the Nashville Predators. Viktor Arvidsson is heading to the west coast to play with the Kings in exchange for a 2021 2nd round pick and a 2022 3rd round pick. John’s a big fan of this trade and believes it could see more big moves involving the LA Kings, including a particular player out of Buffalo.

Other news around the NHL was that Duncan Keith wants out of Chicago. John referred to him as “Mr Chicago Blackhawk”. The guys spoke about Keith later on in the show.
