Dropping The Gloves Episode 255: Habs/Knights Split in Montreal & John Responds
Welcome back to another week of the Dropping The Gloves podcast!
The show starts in Montreal, where the Golden Knights tied up the series last night thanks to an overtime goal from Nicolas Roy. It was essentially a must-win game for Vegas, who made the bold decision to turn to Robin Lehner after Marc-Andre Fleury’s poor performance in game three.
Now, of course, the big question is who do they turn to for game five at home? John is leaning towards going with Lehner after how well he played in game four. So who would you go with?
Another talking point in this series has been the lack of scoring from the Golden Knights top guns. Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, and William Karlsson have all been quiet so far, which raised some concerns for John. Montreal has done a great job of shutting them down, but John still believes this is Vegas’ biggest concern.
In the other series, John loves the New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning series, especially play from the Islanders fourth line, who have been putting together some great games. Due to how well the Islanders depth has been for them, John is still on the New York bandwagon to win the cup.
