Dropping The Gloves Episode 252: Islanders Exorcise their Demons + VGK/MTL Preview
We are down to the final four in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Islanders, Vegas Golden Knights and Montreal Canadiens. It’s probably fair to say one of those teams is not like the others. That’s how John Scott feels anyway.
John and Tim dove into a little preview on the upcoming Golden Knights and Canadiens series, and it’s fair to say Tim is giving Montreal more of a chance than John. He believes Vegas has too much firepower for Carey Price and the rest of Montreal to prevent an inevitable outcome. Tim, on the other hand, doesn’t want to write them off right away. Some good for you Montreal fans; Tim also believed in you during road one, which turned out pretty well.
One team John is backing are the New York Islanders. Since the start of the postseason, John has been telling everyone that New York is winning the Stanley Cup. Well, they’re now only three wins away from making it there. According to John, they played an almost perfect game against the Lightning on Sunday afternoon and passed all the tests thrown at them. It’ll only get tougher from here, but their fans will give them a significant advantage when they arrive back on Long Island.
