Dropping The Gloves Episode 245: What’s Next for the Oilers?
On Sunday night, the Edmonton Oilers broke their fanbases hearts in two after blowing a 4-1 lead with less than three minutes to play against the Jets. Of course, they then went onto lose 5-4 in overtime after Nikolaj Ehlers scored in his return game. The following night, the Oil battled hard but crushed Oilers Nation once again after losing in triple overtime when Kyle Connor put the final nail in the coffin on the Jets sweep.
Now, what’s next for the Oilers? In episode 245 of Dropping The Gloves, John and Tim took a look at what went wrong for the Oilers, what could there next move to be, and if Ken Holland should’ve been more aggressive at the deadline. John brought up plenty of points about how draft picks shouldn’t have been that valuable to the team and also compared a few of the trades that the Oilers could’ve made to impact their lineup.
If you remember back a few episodes again, John and Tim put a little money on the line for the Toronto and Montreal series. John bet Tim $50 that Montreal wouldn’t win another game after their game one victory. Well, that bet is sure looking promising for John now with the Leafs up 3-1. The two discussed the goaltending in this series between Carey Price and Jack Campbell. And also, a little history was made in Tuesday’s game. John drops that little stat during this segment.
They then closed out the show talking about the three games that went on last night. You can listen to episode 245 of Dropping The Gloves on any of your podcast providers.
