Dropping The Gloves Episode 244: “Don’t Be Afraid Anymore”
Welcome back to another episode of Dropping The Gloves with John Scott and his co-host, Tim!
On episode 244, John and Tim went around the NHL world and got you up to date with everything that’s going on.
The show began in Boston after the Bruins eliminated the Washington Capitals. In the past, John has expressed his disappointment in the job that Don Sweeney has done in Boston. However, he had a change of ton on today’s show praising the Bruins General Manager. Instead, he spoke about the decisions the Capitals made at the deadline like bringing in Anthony Mantha from the Detroit Red Wings. John declared that he isn’t the biggest fan of that trade and believes that Jakub Vrana is a better player. What do you think? Send us a tweet and let us know.
They then moved up north to the Edmonton and Winnipeg series. Oilers fans were struck with another dagger on Sunday night when their team blew a three-goal lead with less than three minutes to play in the third. Then, during the recording of this episode, Edmonton fell 4-3 to Winnipeg in overtime to complete the sweep. John spoke about the presence in that room and what Edmonton might need to get them over the hump. He also spoke about the clipping penalty that led to Josh Archibald getting suspended for a game.
John and Tim closed out the show with conversations about the remaining series in the first round. You can listen to the show right now on any of your podcast providers.
