Dropping The Gloves Episode 237: Uncovering the The Biggest Disappointments of the Season
Episode 237 of Dropping The Gloves has arrived!
John and Tim dove into some playoff talk in this episode, discussing who some of the most disappointing teams were, along with a few overachievers.
A big talking point was the play of the Philadelphia Flyers. Many thought the Flyers were potential cup contenders, but instead, they’ve failed miserably, which now raises the question, is it time to move on from their core? Guys like Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek aren’t getting any younger had have had a lot of chances to prove themselves in the postseason but continuously fail to perform. Another question mark comes up when you consider how poor Carter Hart has been this season. However, Tim and John both agreed he’s still a young goaltender in the league and has time to prove himself.
The Hart topic also played into some Olympic discussion and who could be between the pipes for Team Canada. Let us know who you think should be the goaltenders on that team.
The guys continued with a few other disappointments, including the Columbus Blue Jackets, St Louis Blues, and a few other teams around in the NHL.
It wasn’t all negative, however, as they did talk about some overachievers too. A big one was the Minnesota Wild, who really came out of nowhere. They’re now a potential Stanley Cup contender and will be a tough out in the West Divison.
