Dropping The Gloves Episode 236: Interview with Brandon Prust

Today, John and Tim welcomed former NHL enforcer Brandon Prust to episode 236 of Dropping The Gloves.

Prust played in 486 NHL regular-season games for the Calgary Flames, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, and Vancouver Canucks. He also spent some time in the AHL and Germany with the Nuremberg Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers.

However, before jumping his professional career, Tim asked Prust about his junior days with the London Knights from 2002 to 2005. Prust shared a great story about how he went from playing Junior B in London to joining the Knights because of a conversation his Dad had. He also shared a few other stories from his time there.

They then moved onto his professional career. Prust played under a couple of old school coaches during his time in the pros. In the early days of his career, he was coached by Daryll Sutter when he was with Calgary and then with John Tortella in New York. Prust had some great stories to share about those two guys too.

The show ends with some rapid-fire questions where Prust reveals a few players he wished he had fought, who the tough guy to fight was and some fellow enforcers who just had his number.
