The Vancouver Canucks have come back and proven the doubters wrong. After a long layoff from COVID, Vancouver went head-to-head with the Toronto Maple Leafs and came out with a maximum of four points and are now eight points out of the players with 17 games to play.

Is it a long shot? Probably, but they do play the Senators four times within the next week so never say never. John and Tim discussed this topic on Today’s show and gave their thoughts on if Vancouver could do the impossible and clinch a postseason spot. After the Ottawa series, the schedule isn’t easy down the stretch, however, with multiple games after the Oilers and Jets coming up.

Also, on today’s show, John brings up a few NHL records that he thinks will never get broken. He tells a great story about one former NHLer who played with full intensity even in a charity game. The conversation was sparked after Patrick Marleau broke the all-time games played record earlier this week.

John’s former Head Coach, John Tortorella, struggles continue in Columbus after they last in the Central Division standings. The guys raised some concern about what is going down in Ohio since the Blue Jackets were cup contenders only a couple of seasons ago.
