Deryk Engelland Looking Forward to the NHL in Vegas

Former Las Vegas Wrangler Engelland hoping for NHL team in Sin City

As a resident of Las Vegas in the off-season, Deryk Engelland and his wife Melissa enjoy the area.

And as a one-time East Coast Hockey League player with the Las Vegas Wranglers — the one-time Calgary Flames farm team — he knows his residents enjoy hockey.

“The East Coast team did pretty well for attendance,” Engelland said, on the heels of the National Hockey League’s announcement for an experimental season-ticket drive in Sin City. “Obviously the prices for tickets would be a lot different. It’s a big city with a lot of people from all over the place.

“Hopefully it does well but you never know, I guess. You hope for the best and hope people want to come out want watch.”
