Craig Berube’s First Win, Tanner Glass Impresses

Tuesday night had a little of everything. A couple of routs, some one-goal games, a little overtime hockey, a head coach getting his first win — congrats to Craig Berube — and some solid gloves-off action.

Lets start with the fight of the night: Tanner Glass of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Jay Harrison of the Carolina Hurricanes. The two came together shortly after Cam Ward froze the puck, and the action was at a fever pitch from the get-go. Glass started with the lefts, getting the better of Harrison quickly. Harrison mounted a comeback, landing some solid rights to force Glass to change hands. But when Glass again changed hands, now back to the left, he landed a series of shots flush on the chin that sent Harrison down and into the base of the boards.

An anticipated heavyweight fight never materialized between Colton Orr and Patrick Bordeleau in the Colorado AvalancheToronto Maple Leafs game. We did get another decent middleweight bout, this one between Troy Bodie and Cody McLeod.
