Congrats on Retirement, Adam McQuaid

A heck of a career. A heck of a fighter. One of the most watched modern day combatants on these pages of Hockeyfights, Adam McQuaid, has called it a career after 512 NHL games.

We here woke up to an NHL world a little less tough with the news and so I took some time to put together a little video to show our appreciation for him:

Hockeyfights is all about the players and their contributions to the game we all love. The guys who don’t always show up on the “Plays of the Month” highlight reels. The guys who, like McQuaid, will get a cut to the throat and play out the rest of their shift before coming off the ice. The guys who will be there when their teammate gets knocked down, to pick them up and follow the code.

We wish Adam McQuaid all the health and happiness he deserves in his retirement with his newborn child to take up his days now. And from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to you and all the players like you that gutted it out, threw fists and sacrificed so much for the sport we all know and love.
