Cody McLeod and Chris Thorburn Double Down
Cody McLeod and Chris Thorburn engaged in a pair of fight's in last night's Avalance–Jets game in Winnipeg. They had a short, even fight early in the first period as both players tried to set the tone for their team.
The Avs responded and took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. Winnipeg scored four unanswered goals in the second, putting Colorado on the ropes entering the final frame. The Avs cut the deficit to two, then Cody McLeod sought to keep momentum on his team's side by challenging Thorburn to round 2. The rematch was longer and a little more eventful. McLeod started the fight with two quick lefts and appeared to control the fight.
Ultimately, the Jets tacked on another goal and finished off a 5-3 home ice victory. McLeod and Thorburn each tallied an assist in the contest. McLeod continues to lead the NHL in fighting majors this season.
