Canucks and Kings Get Chippy
The Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks are first-year division rivals in the newly formed Pacific. Some rivalries are born out of the intensity and whatever-it-takes-to-win attitude of the playoffs. Others come from repetition and built up animosity.
Of course cheap shots and jumping players are also an easy catalyst for teams to develop a healthy hate for one another. Last night, the Canucks and Kings went with choice C. Why Wait? A makeshift scoresheet shows a Dale Weise slew-foot on Kings star defenseman Drew Doughty and a few fights, with a couple of instigators tacked on. All from a close, hard-fought 1-0 game.
