August Is Gone, Thank the Hockey Gods

August is without a doubt the worst month for any hockey fan. There is next to nothing going on with the NHL, your favorite teams only real news is filling out a practice squad or releasing a new jersey, and you've got fantasy football to prepare for. Needless to say, it's a painful 31 days for the diehard hockey fan.

But the calendar has changed months and we're now less than 30 days to opening night — less than two weeks from the preseason! And, because this isn't an 8th year where the NHL will have some sort of labor issue, rookie tournaments will take place, players will report to their teams, and training camps will be underway to kick off the start of another hockey season.
